What is Inflammation
WHAT IS INFLAMMATION?
Usually inflammation helps us because it helps our bodies to fend off various disease-causing bacteria, viruses and parasites. The instant any of these potentially deadly microbes gets into the body, inflammation launches an attack and kills off the invader and then the healing can begin. So inflammation can help heal injuries and protect us from infections.
But . . . with so many deadly toxins that we are exposed to on a daily basis and with diets high in sugar and saturated fats, it makes it easier for the body to become inflamed and inflammation can become chronic.

An out-of-control inflammatory response can destroy healthy tissue and cause more damage than the original problem. Keeping it under control means the immune system must maintain a balance between fanning the flames of inflammation and cooling it down. Peter A. Ward (M.D. 1960, Residency 1963). Ward says. All autoimmune diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, psoriasis, lupus or multiple sclerosis are diseases in which the inflammatory response is unregulated, excessive and out of control.
Time Magazine published an article on inflammation and wrote about how chronic inflammation may be the engine that drives many of the most feared illnesses. You can read the article HERE. Read about the surprising link between inflammation and heart attacks, cancer, alzheimer’s and other diseases.
Inflammation has long been linked to both rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis. Now, there’s emerging research that also links chronic inflammation to allergies, asthma, Alzheimer’s disease, cancer, diabetes, digestive disorders, heart disease, hormonal imbalances and osteoporosis.
